History & Legacy

Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University was established on August 2, 1972, by the Government of Andhra Pradesh as the first technological university in the state. Named after India's first Prime Minister, Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru, the university was founded with the objective of promoting technical education and research in emerging areas of science and technology.

Over the past five decades, the university has expanded significantly, now comprising six constituent colleges and over 200 affiliated colleges spread across Andhra Pradesh. The main campus in Kakinada spans 100 acres of lush greenery with state-of-the-art infrastructure.

The university has produced more than 200,000 alumni who hold leadership positions in technology companies, research organizations, and academic institutions worldwide. Our graduates are known for their strong technical foundation, innovative thinking, and ethical leadership.

    Submit application form through our admission portal with required documents.
  2. Entrance Examination
    Appear for JNTU Entrance Test (JNTUET) or submit valid scores of national tests.
  3. Counseling & Interview
    Shortlisted candidates will be called for counseling and/or interview.
  4. Seat Allotment
    Final seat allotment based on merit, category, and preferences.
Important: International students should apply through the International Admissions Office.
